ASSOCIATIONS
Parents Teachers Association (PTA)
The Parent Teacher Association of College of Nursing, Alappuzha aims to foster and promote good relationships among parents, teaching staff and students. The PTA functions to create a keen interest in the members for the smooth working and progress of the college and for maintaining good discipline and high academic standards. The parents of all the students of the College are members of the association. The PTA renders support in all endeavors of the college.
Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI)
It is a National level organization for nurses in India. The association was established in 1908 to uphold the dignity and honor of nursing profession. Teachers and Post Graduates students are the members of this organization. TNAI conducts unit, zonal, state and national level conferences.
Kerala Government Collegiate Nursing Teacher’s Association (KGCNTA)
KGCNTA Alappuzha unit was started in 2008. This association directs its activities to keep up with standard of nursing education and boost up morale of its members to be at par with other professions. All teachers in the College are members of this association. The members are actively involved in the meetings and discussions related to various issues in nursing education and practice.
Students Nurses Association (SNA)
SNA is the professional organization of the nursing students at the national level. A wide variety of professional, social, cultural and recreational activities are conducted to strengthen the curricular and co-curricular skills of the students.
Kerala B.Sc. Nursing Students Association (KBNSA)
KBNSA is the state level organization of B.Sc. Nursing students of Government Colleges in the State. All the students enrolled in the Govt. Nursing Colleges under Directorate of Medical Education shall be members of the association. The association aims to promote a co-operative spirit among students and to uphold the dignity and honor of the profession. KBNSA organizes educational activities, co-curricular activities, annual conferences, inter collegiate meets and gives award/prizes to the students, for the overall development of the students.
Kerala Nursing Post Graduate Association (KNPGA)
KNPGA is a state level organization of post graduate students studying in Government Nursing Colleges in Kerala, under Directorate of Medical Education. It was established in year 2014. KNPGA was formerly known as PGNSA. The association aims to promote a co-operative spirit and professional enthusiasm among its members. KNPGA conducts various curricular and co-curricular activities such as continuing nursing education, workshops, mock M.Sc. Nursing entrance examination for M.Sc. nursing aspirants.
Students Union
The University Students Union functions under the Kerala University of Health Sciences. The elected representatives of the Student Union and Student Union Advisor take initiatives in conducting programmes in the college like college day, arts & sports events and academic programmes aimed at the overall development of students.
Alumni Association
It is the association of the former students of this college. After the successful completion of the course, students are enrolled as members of the Alumni Association. It conducts educational sessions, annual conferences and get together.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
National Service Scheme in the college is formed in the year 2015 under KUHS. NSS is actively involved in the curricular and co-curricular activities of the students. It observes days of national importance, conducts yoga training for students, organizes health camps and surveys. NSS had also launched vegetable garden project in the college hostel campus and was successful.
