PHYSICAL FACILITIES

This college provides the finest infrastructure and facilities to its students. The college’s infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities. College is at par with the guidelines laid down by Indian Nursing Council.

Class Rooms

All the classrooms of the college are well furnished with all modern facilities.

Nutrition Lab

The nutrition laboratory is equipped with facilities for the demonstration and practice of preparation of food items for different age groups and different disease conditions.

MCH Lab

MCH Lab is well furnished with all modern manikins and simulators.

Community Health Nursing Lab

The community health nursing laboratory of the college is equipped with facilities for practicing various community health nursing procedures and for organizing health camps, exhibitions and mass campaigns.

Foundations of Nursing Lab

The preclinical laboratory is equipped with all facilities for the demonstration of various basic and advanced nursing procedures . It is equipped with three patient simulators, two manikins, two hand simulators, one CPR manikin and manikin for auscultation of breath sounds and heart sounds. Other equipments include suction apparatus, oxygen cylinders, nebulizers, sterilizer, ortho devices, ICU beds, Cardiac table, bed cradle, commode and various comfort devices .

A V Aids Lab

Instructional media of this lab include charts, models, overhead projectors, LCD projectors ,public addressing system ,digital visualizers and interactive board, CD players, digital camera, CCTV, television and other exhibits which enhance the teaching learning activities of the faculty and students.

Computer Lab

The computer lab has 15 computers and 5 laptops with internet facility. In addition there is local area network for connectivity of different computers.

Conference Room

A modern well furnished conference hall with ample space to accommodate 200 participants. The wall is sound proof and suitable for conducting national and international conferences with modern gadgets and technical interface for virtual and web based education.

Examination Hall

A well-furnished examination hall with a seating capacity of 100 students at a time is spacious & comprises of gadgets like CCTV, Mobile Jammers etc.

Multipurpose Hall

A well-furnished multipurpose hall with a seating capacity of 75 students at a time is spacious & comprises of gadgets like CCTV, Mobile Jammers etc.

Library

The college has a well-equipped library with ample text books & journals in all specialties. The library has a collection of more than 4699 books, 19 journals and 10 e-journals. The library provides xerox, scanner and internet services to students and faculty. The learning resource center located within the library contains internet enabled computers through which students can avail online journals.

Hostel

There is a hostel building for undergraduate girls within the campus with a capacity to accommodate 200 inmates. Men’s hostel is available for boys. A new ladies’ hostel for PG students was inaugurated on 17thJune 2019 and M.Sc. Nursing students are accommodated in new ladies’ hostel.

Transportation

One 48 seated bus and one 32 seated bus are available for transportation of students to clinical & community practices areas outside the campus.

The Nursing Research Center

The Nursing Research unit of this college is based on specified objectives to strengthen the scientific body of knowledge of professional nursing. The unit has scientific activities like journal club, conferences and scientific meets.

SBMR Funded Projects

State Board of Medical Research is providing financial assistance for holding continuing medical education programs, seminars, symposia and workshop on topics relevant to health problems of state. Grants are sanctioned to the faculty for paper/thesis presentation. A few faculty members are doing projects under SBMR fund.

Student Welfare Activities - SSGP ( Student Support and Guidance Programme)

It is a student welfare programme started by Kerala University of Health Sciences from 2015-16 academic year onwards. Two faculty members are trained by the university as nodal officers for SSGP. Guidance and counseling services are provided to students under this programme. One faculty is in charge of 10 students under teacher guardian scheme.

Personality development programmes are organized from time to time. Co-curricular training programmes are conducted periodically.

Health record for individual student is maintained which is designed to contain a summary of the student’s previous medical history and a complete record of his/her health during the period of study.

Observation of various days of national importance, conducting education and cultural programmes, social awareness programmes and other co-curricular activities are done by the student bodies.

College day and other festivals such as Onam, Christmas….etc are celebrated in the college to facilitate cultural and recreational activities.
